Who else wants all the rustic and woodsy wedding vibes they can get? Nestled in the San Bernardino mountains, lies the quaint little town of Oak Glen, famous for their apple and berry picking farms. And this is where you can find The Home Stead, a full-service outdoor wedding venue, with all it's vintage charm and no shortage of authentic detail. This was the setting for KS Floral Concept's owner and founder, Kristin Smith's, Styled Hwy 38 styled wedding shoot. Southern Californians aren't accustomed to much seasonal rain, let alone several days of deluge including this particular spring day. But Kristin did not shy away from the inclement weather. Instead, her intuitive vision brought out this photographer's resolve to capture the magical mood!
With fairy lights strung throughout the grounds, cutting through the rapidly rolling fog, and the clouds providing perfectly diffused light, and glittering sparkles of raindrops falling on the mountain greenery surrounding the venue, these natural elements highlighted each vendors' craftsmanship which truly set this whimsical wedding shoot apart. The beautiful table-scape was fully loaded with fragrant floral displays in berry tones and some complimentary blue accents in the linens. There were uniquely crafted candy apples and hand-monogrammed cookies to accent each place setting. One of the cookies also crowned the cake as the topper. Oh, and about that cake! A multi-layered masterpiece with wine colored blooms and real berries encircling each layer.
After the umbrellas were put away, I found myself standing in front of a vintage trailer photo booth with a cozy sitting area, complete with vintage furnishings and colorful glassware, designed for the bride and groom to sit and snuggle while they sip on their signature cocktails. Still more details to capture, and one being the unique ring set provided by Staghead Designs. You just gotta check that out! A rustic A-frame covered in the themed floral hues provided a beautiful arch for couples' photos. Eventually, I made it to an open field, where our stunning models made friends with some local alpacas. And then there was that memorable finale, watching the newlyweds chase each other through the meadow, with the
tree-lined mountains as their backdrop. I'm convinced our groom intentionally let his bride catch up to him for that dip & kiss shot. Until next time, Oak Glen and Styled Hwy.
